Clinacanthus nutans tea

Clinacanthus nutans, a medicinal herb belonging to the family Acanthaceae, has traditionally been used in herpes simplex virus rtetament in Thailand.

Clinacanthus nutans is boiled to make tea and should be taken three times a day for dysentery.  The tea also can be taken twice glass a day for remedy for diabetes. Clinacanthus nutans is good for lowering cholesterol, reduce high blood pressure, body detoxification, and good for kidney.

The aqueous extract of Clinacanthus nutans is well known as anti-snake venom among the traditional healers, as well. This plant has been traditionally used as anti-inflammatory drug for the treatment of insect bite, herpes infection and allergic response.

The plant also has been show to have good potential for effective oral mucositis treatment.
