Celery seed tea

At least once a day for three days, drink celery seed tea. To prepare the tea, pour one pint of boiling water over a tablespoonful of freshly ground or chopped celery seeds. The seeds may be allowed to steep for 10 to 20 minutes and then cool a bit, strain and drink.

These seeds are rich in potassium and sodium which stimulate the skin, bowels and kidneys to eliminate waste from the body.

They also help to rebalance the body’s pH level and may help prevent certain cancers.

Celery seed has long been used in traditional medicine to treat gout and kidney stones. It lowers the levels of uric acid in the body by stimulates the expelling of uric acid.

A compound in celery seed called limonene acts as a mild tranquilizer. The calcium in celery seed helps calm tense nerves.

Celery seeds are also known to have anti-spasmodic properties. They are thus useful in the treatment of asthma, bronchitis, pleurisy and tuberculosis of lungs.
