Chrysanthemum beneficial: Ulcerative Colitis and Hypertension

Chrysanthemum beneficial: Ulcerative Colitis and Hypertension
Chrysanthemum water extract decreases the contents of two adherent glycoproteins, CD44 and CD62p.

These glycoproteins are responsible for the adherence and communication between cells.

Their elevated levels are believed to be closely related to those in ulcerative colitis.

The flavonoids of chrysanthemum have been shown to increase blood circulation in experimental animals, suggesting a potential role in reducing hypertension.

Several fractions from the ethanol extract also showed significant anti-myocardial ischemia and antiarrhythmia activities in rats.
